These terms apply to the CatPic macOS app. Please also read the CatPic Privacy Policy for details about local data, system permissions, and update requests.
1. Scope
CatPic is an image and video management tool. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you disagree, stop using it. These terms describe the capabilities actually available in the current version.
2. Features
The current version supports region screenshots, screen recording, pinned images, media import, a local library, folder trees, search, favorites, and batch management. Screenshots enter the library only after you save them. Imported files are copied into the app support directory and their source files remain. There are currently no account or cloud storage services. We will update the relevant descriptions if features change.
3. Your Content and Data
You retain applicable rights to images, videos, and notes you create or import. CatPic processes them only to provide local management features and does not acquire ownership because you use the app. Make sure you have the rights needed to capture, record, save, and share content, and respect others' privacy, copyrights, and other rights.
Keep separate backups of important material. When you confirm media deletion in the app, CatPic removes the corresponding library file; deleting a folder only removes its classification. Back up or export material you want to keep before uninstalling. See the Privacy Policy for storage locations and deletion behavior.
4. Acceptable Use
- Follow applicable law and platform rules;
- record other people's screens, audio, or protected content only with necessary authorization;
- do not use the app to infringe privacy, intellectual property, or other rights; and
- do not maliciously disrupt the app, update service, or distribution infrastructure.
5. App and Third-Party Rights
The CatPic name, logo, interface, and project code are subject to their applicable rights and licenses. Third-party media, fonts, and other material you import remain subject to the original owner's license. These terms give you no additional rights to others' content.
6. Updates, Availability, and Data Safety
You can choose to check for macOS app updates. Updates may fix defects, change the interface, or modify features. Network conditions, the operating system, available disk space, and third-party components can affect operation. We work to improve reliability but cannot promise error-free operation on every device or in every environment. Keep independent backups of important media.
7. External Services
App update downloads and email are provided by their respective services. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them. CatPic does not control content you choose to submit to external services.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms as features and operations change, and will show a new effective date on this page. We will use reasonable means to draw attention to significant changes affecting your rights.
